Before I continue with how we progress in the renovation from here, I will give a brief summary of what has happened so far.

First off, let’s be clear. E and I have absolutely no idea how to build a house. Sure, E can build a greenhouse or a shed or a pergola.. But to frame and build a house that is going to withstand the wolf when he tries to blow it down? nope.. not a clue…. soo  we have Tom and Craig. Long time friends of E’s Dad and our new friends and neighbours.

Tom asked for a list of must haves and nice to haves from us… Then he designed the renovated house, ordered the materials and organized the barge. He drew up a scope of the project with a list of the jobs. E flagged the items we (royal we) would do and left the ones we can’t. E will work alongside Craig as he frames and builds. His sous chef if you will.

E will do the systems. He is good with them. Along with plumbing, electrical and gas,  E’s name is flagged beside dry wall, tiling, flooring  and the deconstruction. and that is where we are right now. The deconstruction.

We need to take out the pantry and bedroom door and closet, remove the flooring and take apart the old bathroom. We need to completely demolish the small den on the water side of the house….

One of our sons came for a few days to help and then today two friends who shall remain nameless but live in the yellow house on the Point… came to help us take apart the small den.. Helped a lot having the extra two pairs of hands and we made quick work of it. Thanks for your
